I Wanna Be A Writer

http://www.penguin.co.uk/static/cs/uk/0/aboutus/index.html#question11

11. How can I get my book published?

People frequently ask us how to go about getting published. Our company policy is to not accept unsolicited manuscripts or synopses and we cannot enter into correspondence about unpublished work. However, for a limited three-month period from the beginning of August until the end of October 2010, we will be inviting submissions to be sent in electronically to the following address: submissions@uk.penguingroup.com.

We ask that email submissions comprise a brief covering note and synopsis and not a full manuscripts. Please do not send attachments, please write out your cover note and synopsis in the body of the email. We remain unable to accept hard copy submissions and will not return or be responsible for the safety of any that we do receive, so please do not send any original or hard copy manuscripts to us. We will not contact you with feedback on your submission and will only enter into email correspondence with you if an editor within Penguin is keen to progress your idea.

We can also offer the following advice on how to go about getting into print. A great place to start is your local library where you'll find a wealth of information on writers groups and plenty of books on writing and the publishing process.

When you feel your work is ready for publishing you need to get a Literary Agent. Agents can objectively advise you on your work and will know the most suitable publisher to take it to, not to mention fighting for the best deal on your behalf. A comprehensive listing of UK literary agents can be found in the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook, published annually by A & C Black.

Different markets demand a different approach, so we also offer specialist advice for aspiring Adult fiction and Children's fiction authors.

There are a number of websites who offer great advice and writer's resources.

Disappearance

Disappearance

Some days I feel as if I am gonna disappear. There will be nothing left behind but the debris of my dreams and fears. My collections sold off or given away to heathens that don’t appreciate them or the stories behind them. My journals and art all sorted into a bonfire, unusable by the next owner, the flashes of images and the desire to create all gone. I don’t have any children, and my hedonistic desires are left unfulfilled with my former spouse and my lack of a connection to date.

So what am I doing about it? I am looking for a job, something that will keep me afloat until one of those dreams comes true. I don’t want to be Frank McCourt, author of “Angela’s Ashes”. I don’t want the celebrity and fame and joy of writing just for me (and money) to come late into my 60’s. I want to afford a family, a comfortable life that my children can enjoy, that my wife can have because she deserves it and should have it for having my children.

I’m 43, scared and living in squalor.

I’m scared some days, because the best of all I could have hoped for passed right by me, and I wasn’t courageous enough to reach out and take it.

Just like my dreams.

I creep into bed, touching myself, dreaming of something … someone I loved, someone who’d make me smile. Hoping one day I’ll find that one that wants me as much as I’d want them.

Someone who’d want notes in their e-mail, or their lunch, or to kiss just for the sake of a PDA, or someone who’d be just glad to see me.

There are no dreams nearby. There’s little to keep me here in Texas, and I do need a new perspective, a new outlook. Maybe some time on the East Coast would help. Maybe of the “ol’ ultra violence”, as the Droogs would say in “A ClockWork Orange”. Something to help me grow as a human being, something to keep my dreams afloat. Something to keep my heart from breaking every day I live my miserable existence here among the cacti and wild beast.

It’s late.

There’s a rumor of rain, and I still need to chop weeds from my yard and make a clean slate before the water arises and makes the dirt in my yard mud. After all, what’s a little glass mixed with your pets’ leavings.

I want a popular blog.

Of course, I’d love also to BE a popular writer: charming, charismatic, enthralling, witty and pleasant. In all honesty, that’s my ideal, not my current state.

I’m not the guy chosen first, but settled for, and I hate being that guy. I want the ones I want to choose, and there are few and they’re far between.

Right now I think I’m babbling, and just frustrated here and need to focus.

One story at a time, one chapter, one word, one thought, one motion of keystrokes closer to my dreams coming to fruition.

Some people tell me it’s too late to be involved in an orgy, to take recreational drugs, or have a string of lovers and moments of sheer delight and personal fulfillment. Some people tell me I should just settle and let things be as they are, and not worry about the life I wanted versus the life I could have now.

But that’s an easy out … a quitters anthem, and I can’t sing that song.

Maybe I need to change my voice, or actually release it, and allow my heart to be broken again. If I stay too sheltered, I’ll never really dream.

It’s late.

Time for bed.

Good night.

First Day of School

http://extend.schoolwires.com/clipartgallery/images/32865640.gif

Today begins the first day of school in many parts of Texas (and elsewhere for that matter) and I am waiting patiently by my phone, cleaning house, making sure all my ducks are lined up.

I need to make chicken salad for my sandwiches, my coffee needs to be ready any time before leaving, and I need my briefcase fixed with nothing pornographic or obscene. Not that I would ever subject my students to something lurid or vulgar, but I mean no comic books with any type of violence, sensuality, or obscene words.

Even though they see them, and (in some cases) are worse than I am they don't need to see me like that. I'm there to educate, not fuck them.

Please don't ever think otherwise everyone.

I may be evil but even I draw certain lines.

Should I be lucky enough I'll be teaching middle or high school, working until I am free of Texas and my constraints socially and emotionally here. There's a lot of people that always seem to know me or watch me, and I feel as if I've been under the gun forever.

Be a success. Procreate. Pay bills. Get a house.

Why can't it be as a writer?

That's what I chase, and will chase until the end of days.

I have to have hope.

I have to have dreams. Or my teachers taught me nothing.

And that can't be my lot in life.

Too many people hope my dreams will come true.

I want the same for my students - that's why success is so very important.

Gotta keep trying.

Gotta keep moving.

Gotta at least have ONE dream come true.

Blessings,

Julian

BIG Squirting!

Now I do & don't repost a lot.

I don't want to repost from other blogs because I don't want people to think I am plagiarizing or hijacking an audience from another writer.

And when I like something I keep it in my "Reading" Column on the far right side, so everyone can see it.

After that I post replies.

But when I saw this I was awash (no pun intended) of memories, and felt the site had to be shared.

Years ago a friend/phone playmate of mine told me her favorite starlet was Cytherea and her absolute ability to lose ALL control squirting like a broken hose.
Then I saw this link and felt it had to be shared; I just wish I had the same control as the porn stud in the movie.

Here's the movie link!

And I've enclosed a few pictures and images of the spectacular squirting one day I hope to make a lover achieve.

Enjoy!

Danny's Song & Who'll Stop the Rain

People smile and tell me I'm the lucky one, and we've just begun,
Think I'm gonna have a son.
He will be like she and me, as free as a dove, conceived in love,
Sun is gonna shine above.

Chorus:
And even though we ain't got money, I'm so in love with ya honey,
And everything will bring a chain of love.
And in the morning when I rise, you bring a tear of joy to my eyes,
And tell me everything is gonna be alright.

Seems as though a month ago I beta chi, never got high,
Oh, I was a sorry guy.
And now a smile, a face, a girl that shares my name,
Now I'm through with the game, this boy will never be the same.

(To chorus:)
Pisces, Virgo rising is a very good sign, strong and kind,
And the little boy is mine.
Now I see a family where there once was none, now we've just begun,
Yeah, we're gonna fly to the sun.

(To chorus:)

Love the girl who holds the world in a paper cup, drink it up,
Love her and she'll bring you luck.
And if you find she helps your mind, buddy, take her home,
Don't you live alone, try to earn what lovers own.

(To chorus:)

Lyrics here

Long as I remember The rain been comin' down.
Clouds of myst'ry pourin' Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Tryin' to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virginia, Seekin' shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals, Wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin', How we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together, Tryin' to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin', Fallin' on my ears.
And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.

Lyrics here

I love music. Some of it comes from my childhood, some of it comes from my personal sentiment at the moment, meaning what touches me then & there instead of later. Sometimes I find myself hearing something I haven't heard in a LONG time & have to add it to this blog.

Sometimes I'm just hopeful.

Sometimes I'm not sure what I am but I do know this ... I love music.

I love it & need it.

And I'm gonna keep posting it, listening to it, and even singing it when there's a song in my heart.

Blessings,

Julian

Grow Up! Fuck that! Maybe ... :-(

I keep hearing that I can't hope for my dreams to take me anywhere and that I need to work on teaching more than anything.

I guess to be independent I will need to focus on teaching and make notes for my writing. But there seems to be so many things & so little time. Some days I'm afraid - some days I'm feeling hopeless and some days I feel like I could be on top of the world.

Tomorrow morning I'll be in a class for substitute teachers; I won't get paid for it and they're not giving leads to job, just silly reminders of what you can & can't do in a classroom.

I can't teach at Catholic schools, as I'm not sacramentaly sound any longer, being separated. I don't want to teach in a charter school, as they're asking for contact information for students to call you (the teacher) if they're unable to finish their homework.

Nope.

I don't want to teach. Maybe I need to publish a new story to make me feel better.

Maybe I need to make a better effort building a website and exposing my art to the world.

Always with the fuckin' 'maybe's' ... -lol-

Gonna have to keep trying.

Got nothing to lose.

Adios.

Here I Go Again

They say "third time's a charm" so I am hoping to lead a charmed life. I am going to reset the clock once again.

I have to. My 'Summer of Commissions' didn't pan out and I am broke, or just as broke as before, with a checking account closed, a stack of supplies I invested in, and a miserable heart that isn't making me feel any better about myself.

Countdown Clock by Zoodu.com

So what am I gonna do? I'm gonna keep working, and I'm gonna keep creating, and I'm gonna keep making my small steps towards my dreams. I can't die of mediocrity, and I can't be an honest teacher when my dreams are far away from the classroom.

After all, if that's the case, I'll be nothing more than a failure, a liar, and that can't be good for a parent, a lover, a friend, a mentor or anyone who'd want to guide or assist your life.

They should be and feel successful ... that's being honest with yourself.

So the clock is being reset for more days. I posted the clock to keep me abreast of the time I have left, and to keep me in line with my hopes and dreams.

Here we go again!

Adios, ciao & bye-bye!

A Lullaby to Drift into Slumber

Hushabye Mountain Lyrics

A gentle breeze from Hushabye Mountain
Softly blows o'er lullaby bay.
It fills the sails of boats that are waiting--
Waiting to sail your worries away.
It isn't far to Hushabye Mountain
And your boat waits down by the key.
The winds of night so softly are sighing--
Soon they will fly your troubles to sea.
So close your eyes on Hushabye Mountain.
Wave good-bye to cares of the day.
And watch your boat from Hushabye Mountain
Sail far away from lullaby bay.

Lyrics found here

Today I lost a checking account because it was overdrawn.

TGSL (student loans) are asking for monies I don't have.

I am unhappy. There's no privacy, no money, no joy ... my friends are all busy with their own lives and I still need a certification to make an honest living as a teacher. One of my contact asked me if I was self-sabotaging my efforts since teaching is not a dream of mine.

I don't know what to do but write and that's been dissatisfying for a while. I'm bored in a classroom, and my sex life is nil.

I am trying. But as much as there are successes, there have to be failures. Maybe I just can't accept that yet.

Maybe I should just be used to it.

~lol~

Good night.

A Little Cheer-Me-Up Music

Oingo Boingo - Who Do You Want To Be? Lyrics

CHORUS
Who do you want to be today?
Who do you want to be?
Who do you want to be today?
Do you want to be just like someone on T.V.?

Oh boredom is so terrible, it's like a dread disease
Nothing could be worse
Than when there's nothing on T.V.
I'd rather be a cowboy than to stare blank at the walls
I've been reborn so many times
I can't remember them all
(And I say)

CHORUS

Just like someone on T.V.!

I think I'll be a teddy boy, I think I'll be a hunk
I think I'll be a tough guy and I think I'll be a punk
I might just be a fashion star
All dressed in frilly rags
Or perhaps I'll cross the other side
And walk around in
Drag!

CHORUS

Just like somebody on T.V.!

Do you like to be just like a rock
In the middle of the sea
Do you want to suffer by yourself
In a pool of blissful misery
Do you want to feel like a saint in artists' clothes
With a rosary in your hand
Do you wanna be crazy like Van Gogh like a
Stranger in a
Strange, strange land

Would you rather push the buttons
And be feared by all humanity
Or perhaps you'd like to be a bum
Do you wanna be stupid, just like me

CHORUS

Just like somebody on T.V.!
Who do you want to be . . . . . . .

Lyrics Here
