Today

Just for now I am resting, feeling myself breathing calmly, my mind at rest.  I can finish grading my papers on a quiet day with the laptop at the library where I can lay out everything on a long table and then get it ready to return to school in 2 weeks.

I did get some nice gifts from the kids & my Secret Santa.  My SS was a septuagenarian teacher who maybe should have retired, but hasn't so that's her choice.  She gave me a $25 gift card.

The kids gave me home made cards, snacks and one kids brought me a box of Lindor chocolates.

Kinda cool Christmas.

Cards are going out today.

I had trouble finding the pictures I wanted to send but they're going out.

Thanks for all the support and love, locally & on-line.

Make You An Offer

"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."

Actually, I'm gonna make you, my readers, an offer you can't refuse, or hopefully won't.  I am offering send you a Christmas card personalized to you from me.
How do you get this?

Easily, just write me at this address/e-mail by December 17th so the card can go in the mail that Saturday.

I am hoping it will be at your home by Christmas eve or a little after, but it will be a note in my handwriting, with something personal to you my friends.

I have one ready for someone special and am sending it off this week.  If you'd like in on this, drop me a note at this e-mail here: affair24get@yahoo.com and write in the note RE: Christmas Card

Why am I doing this?

Well, why not.

The card can be addressed to your real or screen name, all you need to do is tell me where to send my holiday wishes for you.

If you live in Canada, Mexico or Europe, send a note as soon as possible.

Blessings & Happy Holidays,

~ j ~

Meet Me on Monday

The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far is as needed? - Billy Connally (Da)
"The Boondock Saints

I'm not known for being fun, per se, so I am trying something new.  As an erotic writer and self-proclaimed deviate pervert, this could be a new reaching for an extended audience or a death knell.

Nevertheless, I'm gonna try it:

Questions:

1. How do you order your steak?
2. Are you superstitious about anything?
3. Who is your best friend (not including your spouse)?
4. When is the last time your wore a dress (for the guys...a suit)?
5. Do you have any trips scheduled?

And here are the answers:

1. Medium rare.  I don't know why but I've always loved the tenderness as I bite into the meat.  ;-)

2. Spilled salt, and I immediately toss some of it over my shoulder.  I always watch where it goes as I don't want to salt someone's dessert or coffee.

3. My best friend is a sniper in the USAF.  We've known each other since the 70's, and have grown up together.  I'm amazed he's doing this job in his 40's but he's on his 3rd tour of duty and I am very proud of him.

4. I wore one for a wedding last year at a nice hotel.  I wore an overcoat as it was cold, and had my shoes polished bright and clean.  I danced, smiled, and was told I was a lot of fun.

(Not me but a good example)

5. I want to visit New Orleans again in 2011.  I went in '97 and started giving away my art.  If I'd of sold one piece I'd of stayed.

Cup O' Tea

I peeked at my blog today and saw that I am down by one follower.  Instead of 13, which is a lucky number to me, I have 12 followers.

I can't fight that since only a few months ago I had 2 but I can't complain.
After a few readings I may not be everyone's cup o' tea, but that's okay.
I'm okay with that.  And hopefully, that person hasn't lost their account and lost their spot on-line so I'll keep my chin up and keep smiling.

As for my writing/blogging, I've been neglectful but I've been busy with the tiny tots and (I can't believe I'm gonna say it) but I like them!

I'm planning on buying candy canes and a snack bag to feed them sugar on the last day of school.

And I've been writing haiku's for my Secret Santa.

Holiday is coming & I'll be creating more mischief, maybe a lusty moment of delight and hopefully, a few smiles and such along the way.

Take care gang & much love always,

~ j ~

Sometimes You Need To Know

For Us

I can’t imagine life without you
My days would be devoid of light
There’s a million-watt candle in your words,
no matter when they came into my life.
You’re one of the few touching my soul,
damaged and bleak as it is.
And for that I am grateful.

There’s a kiss in my heart waiting
to flow into your lips.
Electronically, emotionally, and
without hesitation.

You’re never gonna leave me or
any one you’ve touched.
Sweetly, sensuously, or secretly.

And we’re all grateful.

I know I am.

Daily.

Hourly.

Every time I log on finding a tiny note from you.

I know my world is unconditionally brighter.

-unhappy face-

I am beginning to think I am the wrong person to teach the tinies.

I read the lesson plans and I am not doing the same thing as the other teachers; this means I am wasting my time trying to teach them as I know (learned) or I don't need to simply because someone else shoulders the burden.

That's not teaching; that's brainwashing.

If they want someone pushing what the other teachers are doing, then I am the wrong guy.  They need a in-order-simplistic-person.  I'm not that guy, but maybe I need to be for the little carpet crawlers.

I'm used to high schoolers and argumentative convicts.  Maybe that's where I need to be intead of here at the middle school.

The money is good but I am getting scared I'll fuck this up bad!

At this point with the lesson plans from my fellow teachers I am beginning to feel more like this guy than the one below.
Seeing Sidney Potier in "To Sir, With Love", is an honest approach to teaching.  Movies like "Dangerous Minds", and "Freedom Writers" are bunk.

Teaching has standards.

Teaching has hopes and dreams.

The rote methods are gone.  There are no separate English (grammar) and Reading (linguistics) classes.  You don't go to one or the other; both are jumbled together and you've gotta teach them from collections established at the beginning of the year.

Maybe I'm just frustrated.

Maybe I don't know how to teach these mighty-mites ... yet.

110am.  Gotta be up in 4 hours and working with the kids after letting my dog TCB (pooping outdoors) and then feeding them before they go back into their crates till I return that afternoon.

I appreciate the hours and the upcoming cash.

And if I'm moderately successful I'll be referenced madly in the district.  That could work if (or when) I finally leave the state to pursuit my dreams elsewhere.

Right now I just need to relax.

Maybe a tuna melt would help.

Night.
