Cup O' Tea

I peeked at my blog today and saw that I am down by one follower.  Instead of 13, which is a lucky number to me, I have 12 followers.

I can't fight that since only a few months ago I had 2 but I can't complain.
After a few readings I may not be everyone's cup o' tea, but that's okay.
I'm okay with that.  And hopefully, that person hasn't lost their account and lost their spot on-line so I'll keep my chin up and keep smiling.

As for my writing/blogging, I've been neglectful but I've been busy with the tiny tots and (I can't believe I'm gonna say it) but I like them!

I'm planning on buying candy canes and a snack bag to feed them sugar on the last day of school.

And I've been writing haiku's for my Secret Santa.

Holiday is coming & I'll be creating more mischief, maybe a lusty moment of delight and hopefully, a few smiles and such along the way.

Take care gang & much love always,

Sometimes You Need To Know

For Us

I can’t imagine life without you
My days would be devoid of light
There’s a million-watt candle in your words,
no matter when they came into my life.
You’re one of the few touching my soul,
damaged and bleak as it is.
And for that I am grateful.

There’s a kiss in my heart waiting
to flow into your lips.
Electronically, emotionally, and
without hesitation.

You’re never gonna leave me or
any one you’ve touched.
Sweetly, sensuously, or secretly.

And we’re all grateful.

I know I am.

Daily.

Hourly.

Every time I log on finding a tiny note from you.

I know my world is unconditionally brighter.

-unhappy face-

I am beginning to think I am the wrong person to teach the tinies.

I read the lesson plans and I am not doing the same thing as the other teachers; this means I am wasting my time trying to teach them as I know (learned) or I don't need to simply because someone else shoulders the burden.

That's not teaching; that's brainwashing.

If they want someone pushing what the other teachers are doing, then I am the wrong guy.  They need a in-order-simplistic-person.  I'm not that guy, but maybe I need to be for the little carpet crawlers.

I'm used to high schoolers and argumentative convicts.  Maybe that's where I need to be intead of here at the middle school.

The money is good but I am getting scared I'll fuck this up bad!

At this point with the lesson plans from my fellow teachers I am beginning to feel more like this guy than the one below.
Seeing Sidney Potier in "To Sir, With Love", is an honest approach to teaching.  Movies like "Dangerous Minds", and "Freedom Writers" are bunk.

Teaching has standards.

Teaching has hopes and dreams.

The rote methods are gone.  There are no separate English (grammar) and Reading (linguistics) classes.  You don't go to one or the other; both are jumbled together and you've gotta teach them from collections established at the beginning of the year.

Maybe I'm just frustrated.

Maybe I don't know how to teach these mighty-mites ... yet.

110am.  Gotta be up in 4 hours and working with the kids after letting my dog TCB (pooping outdoors) and then feeding them before they go back into their crates till I return that afternoon.

I appreciate the hours and the upcoming cash.

And if I'm moderately successful I'll be referenced madly in the district.  That could work if (or when) I finally leave the state to pursuit my dreams elsewhere.

Right now I just need to relax.

Maybe a tuna melt would help.

Night.

A Little Music

I like music a lot. I have no talent, and was even asked by a middle school teacher if I liked sports or had any other talents.

~lol!~

Now it's funny.

So I figured, before I have a beer and spread out to make something bad for dinner and grade papers, I may as well post some music for other to enjoy.

My taste isn't normal, but as well all ride the information superhighway, what is?

This weekend I'll be uploading some images from my Thanksgiving break. I visited the teacher who I am currently replacing; he told me "Mr. G, I don't have any lesson plans for you so do what you please."

Now I feel like I am student-teaching again.

Some of the teachers are trying to convince me to get my generalist (4th to 8th grade certification) so I can stay on that campus. That would be kinda cool but my heart is set on teaching upper-middle (8th grade) and higher.

Fate has taken me in some strange ways. I've seen and done some things I never thought I would, and I am slowly coming into a smile with it all.

Hopefully I'll keep smiling.

Thank you for listening and supporting me.

Always,

Julian

Sleep Deprived

I thought that my holiday break would refresh me but that's not the case.

The teacher I am replacing left a lot of undone work so I am making up for his loss.  And since I am kinda new to this I am OJT (on-the-job-training) with the kids records and having everything double-checked by the teachers neighboring me and the master teacher in the grade I am working right now.

It's 2am and I'll be sleeping in another hour, then up again at 530am to get dressed, packing my lunch, my papers and going back out of the city to the small satellite outside the city to teach middle school.

But, if I can get to caught-up, I can get ahead, and keeping working sanely.  Usually subs aren't given this kind of stress, but this is an unusual circumstance.  I can handle it, but I need to balance better; I can't be a procratabator.  (I head that word on "Raising Hope" on Fox after "Glee".  Couldn't wait to use it.)

I am also trying to help a friend of mine with her writing for school, editing and assisting, hoping to make her papers better for college.

I have to watch the naps I take in the evenings, and the time I spend on my computer on-line or in front of the tube.  Sometimes you need to relax but that only gets you miserable and waiting to work, and you've lost that time.

Procrastabator!

~lmao!~

Enjoy some music gang.
Much love.
