My big yellow lab mutt, Blondie, went diabetic in the Spring.
I've done all I can to care for her.
Tonight she vomited her undigested meal after eating 6 hours earlier. She seemed to go into shock, collapsing, locking her jaws, being unresponsive.
I may finally lose her. Her body may shut down and there's nothing I can do for her.
I've done drugs, proin for incontinence and all I can do is allow her a death, euthanasia so she can retain her dignity. She shouldn't have to suffer badly or painfully, and I have to come to terms that the part of my life of the last 12 years may end soon.
Right now she's up, seating, drunk in water but refusing food. I'm gonna try some microwave chicken shreds & green beans.
In a few hours I'll visit my vet & see what he can tell me.
Hopefully she'll eat, digest and this will be a hiccup in our lives.
If not I'll put her to sleep.
We'll meet again in Heaven and enjoy eternity.
But for now I must endure the pain of the unknown.
Thank you for listening.
